LEAH wants to know whether it is safe to shop at AliExpress?

Short answer - Generally, yes it is safe.

The Web site itself is NOT a scam. AliExpress is part of the Alibaba Group, a Chinese multinational technology company. It's a legitimate e-commerce marketplace that connects third-party sellers to consumers. However, there are reports of unscrupulous sellers scamming buyers by selling counterfeit or unsatisfactory products. So apparently not all of the sellers are trustworthy.

Remember, if the price seems too good to be true, then it probably is. Avoid buying items from major brands unless they're being sold from an official or licensed store. Also, look for the Buyer Protection and Money Back Guarantee Badges. That way if you get scammed, at least you'll have those guarantees to fall back on.

BRITTAN has a shoebox full of old microcassettes that belonged to his grandfather. Grand Dad recorded himself interviewing multiple family members who are now deceased. The information contained on the tapes is valuable family history and he would like to know how he can best extract, digitize, and preserve it.

This is an easy one. Order a kit from LEGACYBOX. It's not cheap but they have all of the necessary equipment to convert that analog audio to digital and then save it to either The Cloud, a DVD, or a USB flash drive.

You have several options. David Crookes wrote a nice article on this over at Tom's Guide. The link is HERE.
