AMERIE is looking for a USB turntable for her husband. He has ~1,000 vinyl records that he would like to convert to MP3.

ION Audio makes several turntables that offer USB recording. Right now, Amazon has the ION Premier LP (Black) for $109.99. It even comes bundled with ION's EZ Vinyl/Tape Converter software that will handle the conversion to MP3.

GARRETT bought a used Windows 10 laptop from a guy on Craigslist. It works OK except that at least once per week he gets a Blue Screen of Death, seemingly at random. Please help!

Unfortunately GARRETT lives in Arkansas, so I cannot drive over and take care of this for him. He says the seller told him the hard drive may be a little dodgy, so I recommend that he (1) replace the spinning hard drive with a solid state drive and then (2) do a clean Windows install.

Crucial.com is a good source for inexpensive SSDs.

You can get a copy of Windows 10 (download) by clicking HERE.

GABBY AND JULIE bought a used desktop computer for their son. They want to put Linux on it. They are looking for recommendations on which distribution to use.

Linux Mint is my favorite distribution. It has been my "daily driver" for almost ten years now.

HALAV is fed up with the big tech companies and their attitude towards privacy. Are there alternative OSes that he can install on his Android phone?

The short answer is YES.

However, your experience will probably not be smooth and trouble-free. You will get ABSOLUTELY NO SUPPORT from T-Mobile, as I am sure this will void what is left of your phone warranty. Max Eddy and Ben Moore over at PCMag wrote about this topic last January. Click HERE for the article.

Good luck! Let me know how you make out.

LIAM has an all-in-one inkjet printer that works well for his home-based business. However his operation is mostly paperless, so he often goes weeks without printing. The print head keeps getting clogged up with dried ink. Is there a way to have his computer print a test page every few days automatically?

Yes, you can use Windows Task Scheduler. Credit for this solution goes to Leo Laporte over at This Week in Tech. Click HERE for instructions.
