JARED recently bought a used laptop with Windows 7 on it. He turned it on, connected to his wi-fi, and immediately started getting warning messages that Windows 7 is obsolete. He does NOT like Windows 10 and wants to know if there is any way that he can keep using Windows 7.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!

On January 14th of this year, Microsoft moved Windows 7 to end-of-life status. This means that as of that date, Microsoft stopped providing (1) technical support, (2) software updates, and (3) security updates.

Anyone still using Windows 7 is operating at a much higher risk of getting infected by malware. Jared also mentioned that he bought the laptop for a small business he is starting in a few weeks. Upgrade that laptop to Windows 10 ASAP.

RORY wants to know my opinion on the top three antivirus programs for Windows. Over the past 20+ years, I have probably used 5-6 different antivirus programs. Some free and some paid. Here are my personal favorites in order. All three are highly rated by independent labs.

NICHOLE is looking for a color printer recommendation. She wants another inkjet but is concerned about the cost of the ink, as she has had bad experiences with past printers. Take a look at the Epson EcoTank ET-2760. As I understand it, the whole premise of the EcoTank printer line is that you pay a bit more upfront in exchange for cheaper ink on the back end. The printers also have larger ink reservoirs so that you will not have to replace them as often.
